A life Changing Bible Devotion

                                                           A Life Changing Bible Devotion
This practice will change your life more than anything you have ever experienced because why you do what you do, is infinitely more important than what you are doing. When someone loves you, it shapes you. When that love first ignites, it is simply, “because”. The effect of that “because” (love) delivers you, in a sense, and on varying levels, out of the doldrums, whose chains are discover-able, only in process.
First get all the pre- conceived notions of the Bible out of your head and replace it with this thought. What ever things are written in it, are written for your comfort, (strength) to fuel your patience, so that hope burns bright in you.
Pretend we are filming a few frames of a silent movie. You are the actor on the set. In this scene you are giving someone, you really love, a warm good by hug. You are both holding back tears as the other actor leaves stage right.  For a split second you try to gather yourself, when, a police officer enters stage left places handcuffs on you and arrests you for the death of the other actor who just left the stage. The camera gets a close of your face. Shock, disbelief, disorientation. Cut. Good job. It’s a wrap
The structure summary and purpose of Exodus 19 and 20 is a narrative interface between GOD, government, and the original intended audience (Hebrews)  After 400 years they  perceived themselves to be a privileged sub-set- of Egyptian citizenry, in a hierarchy set up by the Egyptian elite for the citizens (Hebrew) protection for which the citizen (Hebrews) gave allegiance.  The suggestion that they were slaves sent them into a state of shock disbelief and disorientation the same as your reactions in your above silent film debut.
You must read Exodus 20 with the presumption that you are unaware of your enslavement, and each commandment is an indictment and a chance to repent of why GOD enslaved you in the first place.
So as an exercise.
I am the Lord your GOD who brought (brings) you out of a governmental enslavement that you do not know you’re in. Because
You have put other gods before me. How have I put other gods before you Lord?
I’m told to obey authorities, until those authorities ask me to violate GODS laws.
When I ask when do GODS laws conflict with man’s laws?  The very question is the evidence of my enslavement.  Slavery means to be unable to choose, (make sense of) and follow gods law when it conflicts with man’s law. So, if I don’t know where they conflict, it is because I have put other gods before GOD.  Repentance would require obtaining the knowledge of GODS laws and mans laws, and the willingness to engage in civil disobedience where GODS laws are broken by keeping man’s laws. Do this for all the commandments and it will change your life more than anything you have ever experienced, because you will be reading the scriptures in a sacred state, (repentant).
Remember being deceived is our default so- Jesus cries over and over let no man deceive you. Obedience to authority asking you to break gods’ laws is mutiny to GOD. Jesus only rescues captives, deny you are one, he’ll have nothing to do with you.
